Happy Halloween

I could not be more excited to see October go but not without going out with a bang. Despite this…

I can’t wait for fun, pumpkins, candy and friends and hopefully some trick-or-treating. How appropriate for Halloween to be on a Thursday? Here’s a “throwback Thursday” to 6 years of Halloween fun in the Parker house!

Here’s to this little pumpkin’s first Halloween…

Wishing everyone a happy and safe Halloween!

Trying to soak up every second of this summer before baby brings it to a screeching halt! I have really been enjoying this special time with my boys!!

The day after my last “Workout Wednesday” post I had to go visit a cardiologist following my 32 week OB appointment. I was put on a 24 hour heart monitor and they ran all kind of tests. Sounds fun, huh? To sum it all up I was told I have severe anemia which is causing my heart to do all kinds of crazy things (jittery, beat really fast, hard to catch my breath etc.) Both my cardiologist and my OB assure me this is something common in 3rd trimester pregnancy and something that should work itself out postpartum <- have I mentioned that "postpartum" can't come fast enough??! Anyway, the baby is perfectly fine she is just measuring a little on the small side which is also common with the anemia. With that being said my working out has been cut back from 5 days a week to 3 and a lot less intense. Booooooo.

We are still spending our weekends at the lake and my boys are loving it! (Mommy and Daddy, too)

This is how everyone watches TV, right?

Hayden is officially “toothless” … This picture was taken right after he lost his 2nd top tooth, you can tell some crying was involved. Is pulling teeth a dramatic ceremony at your house too??

**pool days**

(33 weeks)
Top: Danskin from Walmart Bottoms: Champion from Target
Workout-1 hour spin class followed by 1 hour Coreball class

Top: A TJ Maxx find Bottoms: LuLuLemon running skirt (probably my favorite piece right now)
Workout-caught the last 20 minutes of a trekking (treadmill training) class followed by a 45 minute muscle works (weightlifting) class.

A rare Hayden sighting… See, that’s him, under the splash! He’s way too cool and way too fast for pictures these days. Oh the joys of a 5 year old!

Like I mentioned before, we are soaking up every last second of summer which means we’ve pretty much thrown naps out the window for a little while. My kids are scheduled down to the minute during the school year and I’m trying to be a little more laid back about it this summer. Which has meant on most days, Kash passing out wherever and whenever he can!

Attempting to “potty train” number 2 before number 3 arrives. This particular night he brought his potty into the bedroom while eating yogurt. He sat there for a while and he went. Whatever works.

Another “summer nap”

We had VBS at our church last week. I volunteered with the 1st Graders and had this super sweet Down Syndrome girl really take to me. I think God sometimes puts something or someone into your life at just the right time. Though she was a feisty little thing we had the best time and I learned to practice more patience and to appreciate my own kids for all that they are!

We spent Father’s Day weekend on the water with some great friends! The boys and I are actually still here for a couple of more days enjoying some relaxation on the river.

A picture from our walk this morning at the cabin. My cup runneth over.

Happy Monday!

Friday’s Five

1. A week full of wins for our Grizzlies. It’s so nice to have our city that is usually full of controversy and political mishaps brought together by some positive light and celebration! Go Grizz!!

2. A Mother’s Day weekend spent with my Mama and precious kiddos. And some sweet new kicks that I can’t wait to test out on the road once my uterus is baby free.

3. 29 weeks and counting… Baby Dixie is going to make her debut before we know it! We got a glimpse at her precious little face this week and it makes me that much more anxious to hold my sweet girl.

4. Celebrating another year of Marriage with my awesome hubby. I would get all sappy here but ill keep it short. I thank God everyday for him. I am so blessed with a wonderful life and it is most in part to him. I look forward to 50 years more…

5. Speaking of sappy… Class of 2026??!! 😦 no way! I’m hoping its because I’m pregnant and all the hormones but every time I think of sending this little guy off to Kindergarten in the fall I turn into a big ball of emotions. There’s nothing like the love between you and your first born and I’m not quite sure this mama is ready to let go quite yet. That’s what they make summer for right? 10 weeks at home and no school and I’ll be shipping him off to Kindergarten with a smile. But for now, ill continue to dread it and look at his baby pictures! *tear tear*

Friday’s Five

An afternoon on one of our favorite trails.

(27 weeks)
Considering the high is in the 50’s on this Friday in May, I’m really appreciating an 85 degree Monday laying out while the boys were playing.

I’ve caught myself being really thankful and feeling extra blessed this week. Mainly for the fact that God has allowed me to have 3 very healthy pregnancies and for the health of myself and my children. Our daily life is anything short of chaotic and I most of the time forget how much I take forgranted. That being said, I’m so thankful to have passed my glucose test this week. 3 pregnancies and no gestational diabetes with any of them. Praise God!

We are in our final weeks of preschool. I can’t believe my precious Hayden will be going to kindergarten in the fall! Where has the time gone? I wish I could just press a pause button, because this is all happening a little too fast for this mama. These are his school pics from 3, 4 and 5 year preschool. We will call 4 his awkward phase 😉 bless him.

I saw this on some form of social media the other day and took a screen shot with my phone. Not sure why day 6 and 7 are missing but I’m kind of glad because I only needed 1-5 to make me realize I need to step up my wife game. I’ve been blessed with such a great husband that so often takes a backseat to our kids, schedules and this pregnancy. I needed this little wake up call. Maybe one of you do too…

Friday’s Five … or Seven

Too much to share this week to narrow it down to 5… enjoy!

1. Baseball is in full swing and my little ball player couldn’t be any cuter in his uniform. Not that I am bias or anything…
{instagram: paigecparker}
2. With baseball and soccer comes 80 degree weather and the big summer haircut. I think it aged him a couple of years…do you know that kid? Me, either.

3. Also with spring comes … Tornado season. yuck! But, this little guy makes a rainy day look so much better:

4. Hayden had his last preschool art show this week. I can’t believe we are off to “big school” in the fall.
All 3 years of art shows for our little family. Of the 100 shirts HAP has hanging in his closet, I would pick the same one 2 years in a row for the same event. Oops.

5. I love me a good eCard. This one pretty much sums up my daily struggle to make it to the gym:

6. I’ve seen this video making the social media circuit for a while now but never clicked on it to see what it was all about. My aunt sent it to me on FB this morning and it was like looking in a mirror. Story. Of. My. Life. Although, I must say, mine and Will’s rapping skills could give them a run for their money.

7.Another video.. this one is HILARIOUS! I think I’ve watched it 20 times and I laugh more every time. It will definitely put a smile on your face for the rest of this Friday.

Friday’s Five

1. Our last Easter pic as a family of 4.

2. After the Easter festivities I cut 8 inches off of my sister’s hair. For those of you that don’t know, before this whole stay at home mom/wife job I did have an actual “real job” doing hair. I still do it on the side and I’m kind of obsessed with my sis’s haircut:

We’re practically twins now, right? A much younger, cuter me! ha! 🙂

3. I’m still raving over the Chicken and Dumplings I made on Wednesday night from Mix and Match Mama ( I wrote about them here: https://sanityamongstchaos.wordpress.com/2013/04/04/april-meal-plan/ ) I’ve had them for every meal since. Don’t judge me, I’m pregnant and the husband is on a business trip so it was a fend for yourself night anyway. <—– you totally bought those excuses of why I’ve had chicken and dumplings for 4 meals in a row, didn’t ya?

{ photo cred: Mix and Match Mama, duh! http://www.mixandmatchmama.blogspot.com/2012/09/dinner-tonight-chicken-and-dumplings.html }

4. Speaking of the hubster being away on business…in our house that means I get to play the good guy for once. See… I’m usually the whistle blower, schedule maker, rule follower, yeller in this house. Don’t get me wrong Will is definitely the disciplinarian, but for some reason he only has to say it once and calmy and they respond. Typical. So, since Mr. Nice Guy was out of town I treated the boys to  a later bed time, popcorn, cookies and juice boxes IN their bedroom. WHAT?? Who am I?? They loved it and I loved it. Win-Win.

5. You mean its been raining for a month and we are going to have a WHOLE WEEKEND in the 70’s. YIPPPEEEEE!!! I am looking forward to this for so many reasons.. baseball and soccer while wearing sunglasses and not a rain jacket, beginning to get our back patio and yard “spring/summer ready”, staying outside until the sun goes down and we HAVE to go in… I could keep going …

Friday’s Five

I’ve been slacking on the blog front this month. Life has been a little out of control. {understatement} . Here is a little peek from our week this week. Ill be back with meal plans, pregnancy and exercise chatter soon!

Coming down from a weekend high of my cousin, Lauren’s wedding in Oxford. It was one if the most fun weekends I’ve ever had!

This silly guy always knows how to put a smile on your face. I hope he keeps this innocent sense of humor forever!

Despite it being unseasonably cold in the MidSouth right now. We bundled up to go see the Easter Bunny earlier this week. The boys loved it!

4 months from today we will meet Baby Dixie! This pregnancy is flying by…

As many of you know it is Holy Week. We celebrated last night with our church’s Maundy Thursday service. It was such a moving service…1900 people wrote their sins on black cards and nailed them to the cross. After observing communion the whole congregation waved white flags as a sign of surrendering our sins to Him. Powerful.
